Fabergé Friday

Let's take a look at another of the many egg-pendants that were made in Fabergé's workshop. This one was created around 1900!

About half of the little egg is covered in white enamel over a guilloché ground. The other half consists of a faceted, gold mounted amethyst. It was created by workmaster Feodor Afansiev.

The hight of the egg is 0.4 inches (1,75 centimeters), and it was once owned by Vladimirovna Chatelain - Lady in Waiting of Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna (sister of Tsar Nicholaus II).
